Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

We ingest live AIS (Automatic Identification System) vessel positioning data via commercial AIS providers, supplemented with meteorological feeds. All data is processed and baselined by our own infrastructure — we don't resell third-party dashboards.

How fresh is the data?

AIS positions are ingested every 15 minutes. Baselines, anomaly scores, and risk levels are recomputed on each ingestion cycle. Alerts fire within seconds of a threshold breach.

Which chokepoints and ports do you cover?

Suez Canal, Bab el-Mandeb, Strait of Hormuz, Strait of Malacca, Panama Canal, Singapore Strait, and major hub ports (Rotterdam, Shanghai, Singapore, Jebel Ali, and more). Enterprise plans support custom locations.

Can I integrate this into my TMS or control tower?

Yes. The API returns JSON. Webhooks deliver alerts to any HTTP endpoint. Most customers pipe alerts into Slack, Teams, or directly into their TMS via webhook.

What does the free pilot include?

Full Pro-tier access for 14 days. We'll configure 5 locations relevant to your trade lanes and walk you through the dashboard. No credit card required.

How is route risk calculated?

Route risk scores are a weighted composite of the chokepoints a route transits. Each chokepoint's current queue depth, delay delta, anomaly score, and weather impact are factored in. The score updates in real time as conditions change.

Commercial model and enterprise baseline

- Bundle guidance: two-module bundles usually receive 10-15% discount, full-platform bundles 15-20%.

- Atlas Core: sample + delayed live scope, 99.5% availability target, standard support queue.

- Atlas Ops: live cross-domain scope with simulations and decision routing, 99.9% target, priority support.

- Atlas Strategic: full enterprise graph and executive reporting, 99.95% target, named success ownership.

- Pilot / proof-of-value: $2,000 one-time, credited against annual contract.

- Metering dimensions: API calls, watched corridors, alert rules, transition scoring, and replay volume.

Not sure which plan?

Start with the right standalone tier, then expand to Atlas when you need full cross-domain live access.
